Yesterday evening Forward Global hosted a sold-out round table on the first day of the 7th edition of the Paris Arbitration Week.
The session addressed the impact of communication campaigns in arbitration and enforcement procedures and was moderated by Lucie Retif, with a great panel of speakers composed of Julie Spinelli, Alex Just and Kiran Nagendran.
In an animated debate, which included many questions from the audience, the panel discussed :
– the impact that uncontrolled information may have on arbitration proceedings;
– the importance of reputation risks assessment in a dispute context;
– the different ways lawyers work with communication experts;
– how the use of communication can improve transparency in arbitration and in business in general.
Overall, the panel agreed on the importance of considering the impact that the media and other information flow may have on a proceeding and ultimately on a client’s reputation, and that reputation risks analysis and communication strategies should in most cases be put in place as early as possible.
