Bartek has connected businesses and people with the European agenda for almost 20 years. He has done this in multiple roles, as diplomat and civil servant, co-creator and general director of the largest, multi-sectoral Polish business federation in Brussels (Business & Science Poland, BSP), consultant for EY and senior advisor in the climate think-tank, ERCST. Under his leadership, BSP was accepted and contributed to the workings of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance on EU Taxonomy as the only member from the CEE region.
He has worked in policy areas of international trade and economic relations as well as the EU Green Deal agenda, including CBAM/ETS, corporate sustainability, sustainable finance and Taxonomy, hydrogen, decarbonization of transport and CCUS.
As a diplomat, Bartek was a lead on the matters related to international trade in the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU. He participated in the EU inter-institutional negotiations from the working level to the involvement of EU leaders. He has been a member of multiple EU bodies, notably Chairman of the EU Council legislative working group and member of EU Trade Policy Committee.
When working for the government Bartek led the national policy on EU trade legislation, anti-dumping and anti-subsidy and the WTO dispute resolution. He also represented the Polish government in domestic litigations related to international trade.
Bartek has been a regular speaker on European affairs at conferences, events, in media, in the national and the European Parliament. His publications appeared in Euroactiv, Global Journal on International Trade and Customs, Rzeczpospolita and Monitor of Customs.
